TIME TO READ | Interactive Installation

Project Description:TIME TO READ is a three-wall installation situated among gallery walls of works by other artists. It is partially site-specific, but primarily designed to be read as a text, beyond an exhibit of pieces of art hanging on a wall. The viewer is intended to be a reader: to consider the meaning of the objects themselves, their relationship to each other, to the built space which contains them, and to this point in history. Beyond glancing through and noticing a giant tortoise sculpture, a painting of a cat, a 9-foot tall paper cupcake, or an illustration of a small monkey escaping prison, the participant is invited to consider details and to read explanatory text and commentary. I have chosen and arranged the elements as a 3-d essay that will engage the reader on-site. Further engagement is invited through written and drawn contributions. I hope that the experience will continue to generate questions and observations in the future.

There are about 80 other artist spaces you can visit, too. I highly recommend it. It's a great environment, and the range of creative pursuits there is fascinating, fun, and curious...http://www.artexplosionstudios.com/

Fw: Spring Open Studios

HI Folks,
Excuse me if this is a repeat e-mail, but I highly recommend this. I have a studio at 2425-17th Street (#133/134) but I won't be there. But I'm so inspired by the interesting art I saw there today, that I want to let you know you can drop in tomorrow from noon-5 for the last day. Enjoy!
